Trans-N K.K. (CEO: Na Ogawa; hereinafter “Trans-N”) participated as a technical partner in the 1st AI Japan International Film Festival 2025, held on November 2–3, 2025.
At the festival, Trans-N’s proprietary AI-powered video evaluation system was used to select the “AI Film Evaluation Award”, and the company’s real-time translation system “N-Translate” supported seamless multilingual communication throughout the global event.
AI Japan International Film Festival 2025
The AI Japan International Film Festival 2025—Japan’s first and one of Asia’s largest film festivals themed around the fusion of AI technology and cinematic expression—featured more than 70 works, including short films, animations, and documentaries.
Through talk sessions, panel discussions, and award programs with international experts and creators, the festival explored the theme “The Future of Visual Expression Through Human–AI Co-Creation.”
The festival’s mission is to recognize AI not as a mere substitute for human creativity, but as a complementary force that expands artistic vision, creating a truly international forum for filmmakers and audiences from diverse backgrounds.
AI Video Evaluation System
Trans-N’s video evaluation system utilizes generative AI to comprehend film content—including visual elements, dialogue, and narrative flow. Under the supervision of festival board member Mr. Kurimoto, the system evaluated films based on consistency, ethical integrity, and originality.
While general-purpose AI tools such as ChatGPT can partially understand videos, their capacity is limited by token constraints and processing efficiency, often leading to fragmented interpretation.
Trans-N’s system overcomes this by integrating multiple AI technologies—keyframe extraction, image understanding, speech recognition, and music analysis—allowing for multidimensional scene analysis. By adding temporal structure to these scenes, the AI successfully understood narrative coherence.
Finally, under expert supervision, the system scored works across several dimensions—story consistency, novelty, and ethical considerations—achieving evaluation results closely aligned with those of human experts in determining the top prize winners.

Real-Time Translation System “N-Translate”
N-Translate is a real-time multilingual speech-to-text translation system that operates without any internet connection by leveraging local large language models (LLMs).
Even in challenging environments such as noisy venues, unstable networks, or long-duration events, the system—integrated with Trans-N’s on-premises AI server “N-Cube”—achieved fully offline, continuous operation.
It supports simultaneous bilingual translation (e.g., Korean → Japanese & English) with no delay and high accuracy, even in multilingual situations.
During the festival, N-Translate operated continuously for over 10 hours per day, facilitating smooth international communication among creators and guests from around the world.
